What a wonderful place. The wildlife safari trips are absolutely amazing. The spa, food and chalets are epic too.

Ask for Abriel to be your safari guide - his knowledge is unchallenged and he's such a friendly dude.

Where do I give 6 stars? :)

Definitely one of the best safaris to visit when you're in Cape Town.
Option of a day Safari or overnight as well. Chalets are well equipped and stocked with everything that's needed.
Breakfast, lunch and supper included when you overnight.
You go on an afternoon and morning Safari, when you overnight.
Truly magnificent place that come highly recommended!!!

Animals were amazing. Room was decent, food was ok. This place can get very busy so the service does take a bit longer.

The game drives and the rangers made the experience!!

Great game farm, early morning drives to see lions feed, rhinos nursing babies. Quad drives in reserve, horse rides, afternoon safari with guides. Grat restaurant with buffet breakfast, lunch and supper. Star gazing with clear skies. Comfortable rooms. Friendly staff

Amazing overnight safari just 2 hrs away from Capetown, the accommodation was comfortable and clean and the buffets were tasty and rich. But now to the most important part, the wildlife: it was amazing to drive through the reserve with an experienced guide who led us right by the most dangerous animals known to hunters, the Big Five. For those interested in stars, especially coming over from the northern hemisphere, join the star safari in the evening - you will be amazed to see the Milky Way or gaze on Jupiter through a telescope.

Thank you Aquila Reserve for those two special days!

Would definitely recommend, lovely staff and great safaris. We did a horse back safari too and enjoyed it thoroughly. Food was the only thing holding it back from 5 stars, buffet style meals, some were cold. The morning views and sunsets were outstanding.

This is a family rating, individual scores between two and four. Easily accessible location 2 hours from Cape Town. Nice facilities, location, meals. Very nice pool area. We were in a premier Lodge room with a view over the bush. Very nice light, airy, comfortable. Generally an enjoyable weekend light bush experience.

This place is absolutely fantastic, however if you are expecting big safari with hoards of animals passing by in all directions, this is not a place for you, go to Serengeti or another big safari place.
This is sanctuary with rescued animals.
I spent two days here with my partner. We did two game drives, morning one and sunset one, with two different set of guides/drivers. All of them were amazing. Very knowledgeable, with passion and care for what they do, and animals they talk about.

Enjoyed seeing the animals and was ideal for the half day we had. We saw a lot of animals close up.

The food was good, and the home base is relaxing and we'll run.

I wasn't too much of a fan of going on a drive in benches with so many other people, while there was a pit stop right near the end - we could have done with some water for the short journey.

I prefer driving myself around and having more freedom. I also don't think I'd say here as I noted you couldn't light your own fire - and that's half the fun for me.
