Description

During our Summer months we'll head out to he SS Maori for our wreck dive:

The SS Maori is one of Cape Town's most well-preserved wrecks, as it lies in the protection of Maori Bay, relatively sheltered from winds and swells in the Atlantic. Before it was wrecked in 1909, it was a British Steam Cargo vessel, carrying large pipes and porcelain at the time it sunk. You can still find parts of porcelain on the wreck, as well as the occasional wine bottle, as must have been enjoyed by the sailors on board!

Although it has a maximum depth of 22m, the SS Maori can be dived even by those only Open Water certified, as the deck itself stays shallower than 17m.

After the dive, enjoy your surface interval at Hout Bay Harbour, which has views over the mountain range of Chapman's Peak - another of Cape Town's infamous landmarks!

During the Winter months we'll head to the SAS Pietermaritzburg wreck:

The SAS Pietermartizburg is an incredibly wreck with one of the most interesting histories! Originally named the HMS Pelorus, she was used as a minesweeper, and was one of the leading ships during the Invasion of Normandy on D-Day.

After the war, she was sold to the South African Navy and renamed the SAS Pietermaritzburg. The Navy used heer as a minesweeper training vessel, before eventually being scuttles as an artificial reef in 1994.

Mostly intact, the wreck lies about 22m deep, and still has some easily visible features, such as the anchorwinch and other heavy machinery. There is also a great swim through, which divers love to try!

Due to the depth, it is resevered for Advanced divers. However, if you aren't yet Advanced certified, we'll take you to one of our slightly shallower wrecks. Your Divemaster on the day will brief you on its particular history.

Cape Town has a variety of beautiful reefs, but one of it's most incredible is Coral Gardens, living up to its name by the huge variety of brightly-coloured corals decorating the area! This is our reef site for the summer months.

As well as the corals, Coral Gardens also has some unique rock formations, where there is a lot of marine life for macro-lovers to view! Bring along a camera if you have - you will definitely get some awesome shots to show off to your friends!

Expect to see crustaceans, sea stars, sea fans and nudibranchs, as well as some octopus and possibly a shyshark whilst you look around. There is also a small kelp forest where our divers occasionally find a cuttlefish - so be prepared for a dive like no other!

After the dive, enjoy your surface interval at Hout Bay Harbour, which has views over the mountain range of Chapman's Peak - another of Cape Town's infamous landmarks!

During the winter months, we'll either take you to Cowshark Reef, one of Cape Town's most stunning kelp forests, complete with a reef system of pinacles, crevices, and mini cave-like structures. It has all the marine life found at Coral Gardens too!

Was really excited to try diving with seals, and I must say it was everything I expected it to be. The seals are so playful and fun, our guide Connor was really amazing and let us explore without any rush.

Came with my wife which is a novice diver and a bit nervous because the condition are different then back home. The temperature actually wasn't cold and they took really good care of her, we loved it.

I've dived quite a bit around the world but the seals was definitely one of the most magical experiences!

I had a really amazing experience diving with into the blue team. The guides are very professional and all have a great positive vibe that made the diving all the more special. The office was able to organize a unique 5 day diving trip catered to my interests (wrecks, seals, night, kelp and sharks). Also, they did a great and timely service for my personal BCD at a reasonable price. I hope to come back and dive with them during the sardine run. Thanks again and all the best! 🙂

Fantastic dive experience. The team was excellent with our whole family, they knew the best dive options given our interests and the winds/weather. So impressed they took the time to point out tons of wildlife to and from the sites. Outstanding service, a truly an amazing day ! Thank you!

Enjoyed scuba diving with them a lot! They are perfectly organised on land, just a bit messy in the water due to large groups and poor visibility. Would dive with them again though!

These guys are absolutely great. Diving with seals will be fun with everyone you’ll dive with, but the welcoming faces, the chill yet professional vibes and the friendly and accepting atmosphere are all making that experience something you won’t forget. Totally recommend!
